The Big Bad Juicy Apple

The Melting Pot:

" These streets will make you feel brand new, these lights will inspire you.."

I have been aching to New York City for many a moons. I finallyyyy made it there! I love theatre, late nights, people and Adventure, so what's not to love?!?

Arrival: Thom surprised us with a limo. We were standing there waiting for our "train" and Thom gets in this limo and it starts to take off haha! It was funny the guy all the sudden stops and jumps out. "Sorry sorry I didn't know there was more." Good times!

Thom, Zach, Julie and me.

The first half of day 1 was rough. We couldn't have sweated more. We hauled our luggage at least 10 miles that day up and down and over and around, it was so ridiculous and painfully humid. The subway (that day) was like a rotting sauna with 2% or less oxygen. We stood out like sore thumbs as the sweat dropped from our faces and created large pools below. haha memories are a beautiful thing!

Our very own Island Oasis!!!Oh wait..or rather the a dump, the damper" of the trip..our Hotel.

The night turned out great, we showered and hit the town. Let the vaca begin...

Time Square

Naked Cowboy...perve..haha jk

We took a tour bus around the city a lot of the day Thursday. We could get on and off and different stops. It was an awesome way to see the city.

St Paul Chapel
Nice photography Thom..

Ground Zero. This is it.....not much to see, but neat none the less.

In front of Ground Zero

The sky scrapers never ended

Empire State bld

NY Art! haha

They were asking trivia questions to get on the David Letterman show. Zach and Julie made it on with their easy question (hehe) Thom and I got asked what Dave's dogs name was.. uh.. So we just went to the stage door and met the actors going on that day.

Time Square

People by the hoards

Celebrities:

James Franco...Delish!

Shakira

Sophia Vegara- Modern Family. She is like 38 and she looks 20.

Alex Wong from So You Think You Can Dance. Just hanging out in Union Square. Union Square was way cool with all the street dancers. I could have stayed there all night

Kelsey Grammer (Lead in La Cage)

Seah Hayes after seeing Promises Promises. Kristin Chenoweth was incredible (vocals) even though it was a painfully cheesy show. Sean was great too...but I like him better as Jack. haha

Jordin Sparks

I didn't get a pic of him but Patrick Stewart was walking down the street (bald guy from Star Trek and X men)

We met and saw a few others too but I was sick of uploading pictures haha. There were celebs all over that city.

Stardust diner. They're all aspiring actors and actresses so as they serve you they sing to you. Pretty fun. One guy was so loud though that my hearing still hasn't come back. Sheesh!

Within the hour this picture was taken, I don't recall laughing harder in my life. It hurt...bad. We didn't know whether to sob from laughter or from the pain in our stomachs, but we sobbed.

Off to Grennich

haha

Chinatown, I love me some doo-dad shopping. It was great.
Pastries galore. Good thing I'm not a big pastry fan. But Julie and Z were in heaven.

Headin' to Wicked

This picture is just before Zach shoved me in one of those turning doors with these two Asian ladies. We were crammed up against the glass for what seemed an eternity. hahaha We laughed for an hour. The jerk!

Grabbin' a swanky bite after.

My shoes were hurting my feet soo bad after miles and miles of walking (poor choice of shoes I know..I still have blisters) So near the end of our evening's journey Zach offered to trade shoes so I could make it to the hotel haha. He got several looks no doubt. He was sent from heaven.

American Idiot (music of Greenday) The leg room in this theatre was like 4 inches long. We were laughing so hard cause our legs kept going to sleep cause our knees were crammed into the seat in front of us. We've never been so happy to have a show end, it killed haha!!

Yummy BBQ joint Thom was in 7th heaven!

Lead dude of Am Idiot

Seeing Billy Elliot
Meeting Billy! Phenominally talented kid! He could sing, act and DANCE amazingly.

Church in Harlem baby. It was really cool.

Harlem love

On top of the Rockafeller Center. The view was unbelievable (Empire State Bld behind us)

Shows: In order of least favorite, to fav.

5. Promises, Promises..so cheesey

4. La Cage

3. Billy Elliot (It was amazing don't let it's 3rd place fool you. It's probably tied with 2nd anyway hehe)

2. American Idiot

1. Wicked. I'd already seen the show and the performance literally moved me to tears. haha cheesy I know, but I love this show!

I didn't dream I would love the big, chaotic city as much as I did. Maybe the company helped a lot who knows? I can't wait to go back. Any takers? ;)
